Teachers Information
Introduction
This website was created to inspire and motivate the new year 12 students at the beginning of the year to get there mind thinking and admiring true pieces of workmanship and design. After they have completed this web-quest they should have a close idea of what they want to accomplish and make for their major work. We have incorporated a few Web 2.0 Technologies to enhance and create a student centered lesson, through focused tasks. We hope this is a great tool for the students.
Learners - Stage 6 HSC (Industrial Technology)
Pre requisites - Task in designed around the students having completed all other stages to a satisfactory level.
Learners are always at different levels and this is always a problem that needs to be catered for by the teacher. We designed all of our tasks and the assessment around this problem in a unique way. Instead of adding new tasks for different learner we designed our so they are simple yet complex. Now this may sound confusing but basically our process pages have incorporated information from the basics to the advanced, this is great for those students that love to excel and go far beyond. Due to this all the students can complete the work to their standard without the teacher needing to provide different work for the varying ability levels.
We have included all the information needed into the process pages so this again makes it very easy to gather the information without loss of time in class.
Tasks & Assessment
This task is designed to cover a period of two weeks, however if you choose you may extend the time period by increasing the time for the assessment task, depending on the learner levels.
The Web-quest incorporates three 50 min in-class activities, with one homework task. All the information for the tasks is on the Task pages. These tasks should be completed in one week.
The assessment task in to initiate the beginning of their design for their major work, as a presentation. The presentation is a great way to involve the class, and get some constructive feedback with possible new ideas. This assessment should be completed in one week.
